Add attribute to all products in a category

I have 60 products in 1 of my category, I want to add a new attribute to them all.

I have it added to 1 product already.

Is there a way for me to add it to the other 59 in 1 shot ?

You added the attributes in the attributes controller. Near the top of that page is a row of buttons with the last on the right used to copy to category.

I see that now, but is there a way to do it for multiple categories, because I don't see any top level categories.

for example i have category #18 which then has 20 sub categories which all have products in them to add this attribute.

I wanted to mention that each of the categories has 3 products.

I guess you could move them all into one category to add the attributes and then move them back. But, that would take as long as it would to add the attributes to each cat from the attributes controller.
