Downloading files after sale does not work?

Hi there, I have designed my Zen Cart and added ONE item to it in order to test the cart. It works great to the point where the credit card is accepted. (I used the demo "[email protected]" to test it). My problem is that I have no idea wheter the customer is going to be given the oppertunity to download the file after a successful transaction. When I do the test, I'm redirected to my site's home page. I sorry for the inconvenience, but are you able to advise in this regard? I used this URL as stated in your readme.txt file in the ZenCart zip file: "http://www.hnpub.co.za/zen/index.php?main_page=checkout_process"

I went through this instruction before I placed my post. I went through those steps and when I go through the purchase process, I'm not directed to a download link. After the credit card transaction, I directed back to my home page. Any further advice.

What is the name of your PDF File and where do you have it uploaded to?

It is in "0:/public_html/zen/download/" folder.

The filename is "id4.pdf"

After that login into the account from the front end and select "my account" and then the order and you should be presented with the download link

Let me see if I understand.

1. The customer pays for the sheet music with credit card.
2. He is directed back to my homepage.
3. He goes back to the Zen Cart homepage and enters his "My Account" section.
4. He will see all his orders and download links.

OK, I have used a dummy credit card transaction (dunny username and password provided by SetCom). They allowed me to do the fake transaction. I was rerouted back to my homepage. I went to Zen Cart and entered the "My Account" section but there was NO ORDERS and download links.

I suppose this will happen if a REAL client buys sheet music, correct?

Are you telling me that a customer cannot download his file straight after he's paid for it. You say I must first change the order status to "delivered"?

So...my Payment company (SetCom) will somehow inform my Zen Cart that this transaction was successful? I will see this in the Admin area and I must change the status to delivered? Is this right?

I do not have or use SetCom but you can look at the settings for it in the admin > modules > payment

These are the options for PayPalIPN

Set Pending Notification Status
Set the status of orders made with this payment module that are not yet completed to this value
('Pending' recommended)

Set Order Status
Set the status of orders made with this payment module that have completed payment to this value
('Processing' recommended)

This is for AuthorizeNetAIM

Set Completed Order Status
Set the status of orders made with this payment module to this value

Where one would want to set this to "delivered" after payment is made and this will triger the download link...Not sure about the bogus test card . You can manually set it to see the link and I would then test an actual product(could be a test product) with an actual valid card and the correct settings to verify that immediately after payment notification the download is available

After I click the button to return to my website (after successful credit card payment) I am reported an error of a broken link.

This does'nt look right to me.
