ozpost shipping module

Trinity:

When logged in as a user, the module will work as long as there are no dimensions set on the individual products.

An addendum:
Logged in or not this behaviour will be the same.

The best way to consider the individual products dimensions is to treat them as an override of the default item dimensions.. This way if you have lots of items all 'close enough' to be considered the 'same size' (for shipping purposes) you'll only need to set the default, and then the 'odd sized' items can be given their own dimension to override the defaults.

Cheers

Re: ozpost shipping module

Thanks Rod

You have been a great help!

I will probably go with your suggestion 1. and try to package the items into bundles for wholesale orders.

Re: ozpost shipping module

I'm having a problem with Ozpost of late.
I keep getting some products using the flat rate shiping method but only if the product is of a certain size.
eg. Height = 2
length = 10
width =2
this doesn't work but if I change these sizes to:
Height = 10
Length = 3
width =3
then it does work.
Q. Are there minimal package dimensions that are required?
Can someone please have a look at my site and see if I have done something really silly?
https://www.mihealth.com.au.
This problem always occures with the toothpaste products.

Thanks Mkgarth

A product measuring 2 x 10 x 2 is small enough to be treated as a letter.
A product measuring 3 x 10 x 3 isn't.

Conclusion. You have disallowed letters as a valid shipping method and you have chosen to hide parcel rates if the item is considered to be letter sized.

Solution1: Enable letters as a valid option.
Solution2: Don't hide the parcel rates when the item is smal lenough to be a letter.

Re: ozpost shipping module

I am currently revisiting an old customers' zen-cart site that I setup a couple of years ago (I think).

It is running Zen Cart v.1.3.8a and AustPost Improved 2.0.1.

Lately, the following error has been popping up:
"ERROR:Unable to obtain a valid quote from the Australia Post Server.
You may still checkout using this method and we will contact you with postage costs as soon as possible."

Some questions:

  1. I take it my problem has something to do with this being an old version of Zen-Cart and/or AustPost?

  2. Is the latest OzPost (2.0.6) compatible with Zen Cart 1.3.8a? (...or will I HAVE to upgrade Zen Cart first)

I apologise if these have been answered already. I couldn't find these specific answers with my searches. I'm guessing they haven't been asked because they are so obvious! (to most)

As a fledgling programmer myself, I am absolutely amazed at the development and support you offer for this add-on Rod!!!

All very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Stanbridge

Re: ozpost shipping module

I upgraded zencart to latest version today: v1.3.9d

I upgraded ozpost shipping module to latest ozpost V2.0.5

  • the icons for OzPost are not showing up
    if I click properties eg Australia Post it shows:

ozpost_austpost_logo.Yes
ozpost_rpp.Yes
ozpost_ppse5k.Yes

I would appreciate assistance to fix this or direction to what I have uploaded incorrectly.
:blush:
Many thanks:smile:

Re: ozpost shipping module

I am now uploading v2.0.6 to see if that helps.

ps. In above post, the "properties":

ozpost_austpost_logo.Yes
ozpost_rpp.Yes
ozpost_ppse5k.Yes

are seen when I am on my live site, and right mouse click on the
(x) Australia Post etc
which shows instead of the ICON for Australia Post in the customer shipping options in the shipping method shopping cart pge.

Re: ozpost shipping module

Hi Rod

I have just tried to install this module.

Am running latest version of zencart

When I go to Shipping and try to install the module I get the following error

1054 Unknown column 'NONE' in 'field list'
in:
[insert into zen_configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, date_added) VALUES ('Dispatch Postcode', 'MODULE_SHIPPING_OZPOST_SPCODE', NONE, 'Dispatch Postcode?', '6', '2', now())]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Any ideas?

Cheers

ozmosaics:

I would appreciate assistance to fix this or direction to what I have uploaded incorrectly.

There are two questions that need to be asked that only you can answer.

  1. Where (what folder) are the icons currently located?
  2. Where (what folder) should the icons be located?

The answer to #1 can be found by looking to see where you uploaded them too.

The answer to #2 will be revealed when you select 'properties' after right clicking on one of the missing images and noting the line that reads 'Location' (or similar).

Re: ozpost shipping module

Hi Rod, Thanks for the reply.
I have been reading through past posts. I "removed" the OzPost from Shipping module, back end (I had noticed I had "spaces" in the drop down in the module, after the new upgrade) and read the post by you mentioning to "remove" and "reinstall" in the admin zen panel.

It worked. The icons are now showing (just need to edit the as they are oversized), so I am getting there!

I checked and rechecked the folders where I installed the ICONS and they did look correctly placed, so the uninstall/reinstalled seemed to removed the xxxxxx.yes from the image.

(I know you must have a long beard to pull on, so you don't rip your hair out! You are so good to all of us!). Thank you again. I am now going doing some more checking the new updates. Thank you so much, my husband is really excited with the new module for ozpost and said to pass on his THANKS too!

Cheers! Sandy

Before doing any edits, try the other file types. (jpg/png/gif). They are NOT just a different filetype, but also different icon sets.

Re: ozpost shipping module

Hi Rod, Thanks! I found that little list and thought BINGO! Am trying out the different types now. Main problem (for me) is they are appearing "very large" in my shopping cart. Plodding on!

It's been a huge learning day for me today - I managed to upgrade to zen cart to latest version (including learning how to upgrade the data base- and upgraded ozpost too). I am determined to get the "icons" right before dawn! LOL!
Must be time for a "milo"....
Cheers!

Re: ozpost shipping module

Sorted the "distorted" icon image sizes in my shopping cart-shipping options.
....I Googled "fuzzy images" in zencart (LOL!) and read about image sizes.

Went to my backed end Admin, edited CONFIG, IMAGES. and set one image section to "calculate image size". That will do for now, it had been a while since I edited images and was making the job "too hard" for myself.

I know I sound "rambling", it's late, been at it all day...will check it all tomorrow.
Thanks again Rod, for the new module.
Cheers Sandy

Re: ozpost shipping module

Hi, all of a sudden I have a problem with the Ozpost module where I get the following error:

Unexpected error (no valid methods). Using AP Flat Rate.

Nothing has been changed in the module and it was working perfectly fine up until I noticed this error.

I have noticed that there is a new version out (may 31 2010). Would this fix the problem and also why would the older version work fine one day and not the next.

Hopefully someone can help.

Re: ozpost shipping module

Hi there,

I am just having an issue with ozpost 2.06 i installed it, it was working correctly and now one or two days later with out making any changes i am getting this error "MODULE_SHIPPING_OZPOST_COST_ON_ERROR_TYPE" i was just wondering if this is related to one of my .php files or possibly something to do with Australia post itself ? if anyone could help me shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
