What do I need to know to get started?

Qestion for anyone? Do you need to know MySQL or database stuff in order to use ZEN? I don't know either....
Also I have a website i'm still creating can I download and get Zen working first before getting my site up? thanks

Zen cart should BE your website. You don't need to know database stuff (other than how to create a backup!) to use zen cart.

Hey I don't want to pay for a site, no offense here.... but i feel im being solited now for a website....no thanks i can build it just fine.....i need someone honest to talk with me about Zen and how i can use it for my needs......i don't want a car built for me for driving i can do that, i want a simple 3rd party shopping cart with more options than paypal can offer...can't believe that someone here is pitching to build websites for folks when most everyone here just wants a free cart .....

Not sure what you mean by 'being solicited for a website'.

Zencart is a complete shopping cart program, and isn't designed to be 'bolted' onto an existing website as a cart script. You'll run into sessions problems when moving back and forth between Zencart and non-Zencart pages.

There are plenty of script websites which have many such cart scripts available, though.

Hi, I just meant someone in an earlier post said "Zen should be my site" not sure what they meant....

Anyway. Let me try and explain what I am looking for and where I am at etc...

-I have an existing website that I developed and will be selling multiple products.

• I already have an existing Paypal account that I have had for years.

-Some of my products are drop shipped and there are different shipping prices due to where they will drop ship that particular product to.

-I called and talked to Paypal, paypal isnt' designed to work for something like that.

-They said I would need a 3rd party cart.

So....with that...does anyone think Zen should work for me? thanks again
