how can I edit main wrapper image left?

If you look at my site http://www.digitalmarauders.com/zentest/index.php?main_page=
you will see that I have an image on the left side and the right side of the wrapper. the yellow bars. You can see that the yellow bars go all the way to the top of the site. Now my question is is there any way to get the left and right main wrapper images to stop before they get to the header like in this image here. http://www.digitalmarauders.com/images/yrblayout2.jpg

A quick and easy way to do that would be to change your header image to not be transparent; this may cause problems with the background gradient though...

However, you header image needs changing anyway as it's very large in filesize - a whopping 168KB!!! :shocking:
