Cannot change color category heads

Hi,
I changed the color of the category headers (headers on left, right, and middle) to white, but now cannot change them back again. What have I done?Is there something that I changed in the meantime that I am unaware of?

Using "mostly gray" template.
Thanks!

Re: Cannot change color category heads

open your stylesheet.css and locate this rule
add the code in red to this rule . change to your own colour

.leftBoxHeading, .centerBoxHeading, .rightBoxHeading {stylesheet.css (line 585)
background-color:green;
border-bottom:1px solid #222222;
font-size:18px;
font-weight:normal;
padding:3px;
}
if you don't want solid colour , you can add image for the background by using
background-image:url ( location to the image ) ;

hope this is what you been looking for

Re: Cannot change color category heads

That works-- thanks.

That is the rule I thought had control. My backgound-color was at the end like this--

.leftBoxHeading, .centerBoxHeading, .rightBoxHeading {
background-color: #dcc766;
padding: 3px;
font-weight: normal;
font-size: 18px;
border-bottom: 1px solid #222;

was my placement what was causing my problem (because, I have some other problems ...)

Re: Cannot change color category heads

Sorry, I still have my color problem.

Changed width back to 990px and the color bars (headers) went away...

Re: Cannot change color category heads

code block for background color is a correct one for what you wanted. this code is no longer in your stylesheet . possibly , was removed by you or is been saved into another copy of your stylesheet.

thats something you have to look into it , to figure what may have gone wrong with your file.

Re: Cannot change color category heads

no, the code in post #5 is exactly as it is in my stylesheet just now.

my template was originally set for 99% and I changed it to 990px-- is this something that can make things go wonko? did I miss something?

Re: Cannot change color category heads

You have CSS parsing errors due to the way you applied comments
.leftBoxHeading, .centerBoxHeading, .rightBoxHeading {<!-- controls all headings-->

causing parsing error. this is not correct way of commenting CSS as far as i know
