I am confused

Exactly what is Zen Cart? The name suggests it is just a shopping cart. The posts seem to suggest it is a program to make a store.
I know that you must go to another site to have a store hosted so where does Zen Cart fit in? :dontgetit

Thank you. I have been to the site and even downloaded the book but, somewhere I got the idea that it was only a shopping cart. Thanks again.
I was sidetracked into trying out Linux and it has driven me crazy lately. I have used Windows for years and have crashed my computers a few times in the past week.
I have a store on Auctiva Commerce now and am looking for something a bit more stable and organized.
I will have to read the manual again for the next few days.

ZC is, fundamentally, a software program that enables you to create a website that is fully e-commerce enabled.

You simply find a remote hosting service that is geared up for zencart hosting (see Certified Hosts link above), and install ZC on one of their servers.

Some good hosts will do the install for you (though doing it yourself is not rocket science, and is a good learning experience).

Once installed and "bound" to a domain name, the website functions as a fully customizable website with complete e-commerce capability.
