Links Page

Hi! Zen cart newbie here! I purchased a turnkey website through hostmylingeriesite.com and its the zen cart version 1.3.8a. I need to transfer my exchanged links from my old lingerie site to this new site. All I want to do is add a links page so I can continue to exchange links with other websites. But I don't want all of the links listed in the box on the left. I would like to have a page called "links" and then I would like to be able to categorize them and add the website name and description and the link. I have searched the FAQ area but I can't find any info on it. I even tried adding a chapter and TOC through the ez pages. But when I go to the TOC on my site and click on one of the sites it doesn't take me to the site. It just shows the information. When I add an external link it puts it on the left in a box and I can't add a description of the site. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Also, I need to transfer all of my articles over to this site. Would it be done the same way as the links? Any help would appreciated!

EZPages is definitely the route to go on both counts. You should go to the Tutorials/FAQ section for detailed instructions on how to configure and set up EZPages.

For your links page, simply create a new EZPage called "Links", then just add the links into one page. Use the features in the basic HTMLArea console to add the link URL's, or toggle to HTML mode and write the link code in by hand.

Thank you very much for your reply! But I don't understand how or where I go to get to the HTMLarea console or I where I go to toggle to HTML mode. I set up a links page and I added a website, description and link. But I don't see anywhere on the page where I can toggle to HTML mode to add the link to make it active. I did read the FAQ on how to set on the Ez pages but I guess I'm not grasping something here. :-(

Make sure your EZPages Settings are properly configured:

admin>>>configuration>>>EZPages settings

When you add a new ezpage, it must have a sort-order greater than "0", and at least one of the menu position options set to "yes" (header, footer, sidebox).

As far as the HTML is concerned, you are using HTMLArea (or perhaps FCKEditor) by default... It's the input window on the ezpages edit acreen with a variety of menu buttons above it.

The one that looks like this <> is the "toggle" which allows you to move between HTML code and WYSIWYG modes.

IF you are not seeing a HTMLArea input window, then switch on your HTML editor as the default editor. (Again, look at my RED comment below)
