help with newsletter subscriptions page

I do not want any newsletter sign up links visible to my customers.

I already have a button on my homepage for newsletter sign up that takes them to a sign up page via godaddy. This is the only way I wish for them to be able to sign up.

I have been able to remove all sign up links except for the one listed under "email notifications" when a customer signs into their account information. Under email notifications it says "subscribe or unsubscribe from newsletter.

What do I do to get this removed? I thought I would be able to do it from my admin panel but I can't seem to find where it's at.

1. Comment it out or delete it
2. now use your developers tools kit and search for ENTRY_EMAIL_PREFERENCE
3. should be the includes/ languages/ english.php
4. Change Newsletter and Email Details
5. To:
6. Email Details
7. remember your_template, the override file system

I am still having trouble and can't get the newsletter subscribe to go away.

I was able to go into my developers tool kit and find the line you mentioned and I changed that no problem.

However, when I tried to find the file in

/includes/templates/my template/templates/tpl_modules_create_account.php

I wasn't able to find that file. I am using desertnoon template so that's the template I'm looking at. I can find that file in my default template but not in desert noon.

Any advice? I am a little confused and I am still very new at all of this.

Should I post this question in the desertnoon template category?

If you are referring to the link under the My Account page, changing the setting in admin should remove this....I know it has for my site, and there is a switch in the template file for it lol

Admin - Configuration - Email Options - Display "Newsletter Unsubscribe" Link? Set to false

And just as an fyi...there is no need to edit the template file to remove the newsletter subscribe box....there is conveniently a switch for that located in Admin also lol

Admin - Configuration - Customer Details - Show Newsletter Checkbox Set to 0
