Reformat EXCEL file

Hi,

I have a spreadsheet from a supplier which needs some serious manipulation in order to match formats for products/attributes uploads demanded by easy populate advanced.

Does anybody know the best approach to use ? - I need to read in the spreadsheet or tab delimited file and output a new amended spreadsheet/tab delimited file.

I am from a programming background but am not sure which approach is best, as I've not needed to do this before.

Any ideas appreciated.
