Q: How to add/modify text on various shopping cart pages...

I've tried various searches, and trolled for a few hours now, and I'm having problems finding the information that I need to get me started.

There is a need to display custom text during the checkout process (as the user checks out). I'm sure there may be a number of ways to do this, but I'm looking for the easiest alternative on how to add/modify text to the checkout process pages.

Please point me in the right direction.
