Authorizing a product/customer, before sale.

My Problem is this. I am new to Zen Cart, and I want to be able to sell a product that is by prescription only. We need to be able to authorize the individual purchasing the product.

We Have a very specific customer base, and we need to be able to authorize each sale of just the one specific product before sale, or EVEN BETTER, authorize the customer to be able to buy the ONE SPECIFIC product while still able to purchse any other product on the site without being authorized.

Is there a way to create different levels of authoriziation for customers for specific products, or does anyone have any ideas?

The only other option I can think of is to create a second zencart store with the one specific product.

Even a "no, its absolutely not possible" would work.

Re: Authorizing a product/customer, before sale.

I can't think of any way to do 'product by customer' without some custom coding, so I'd say no. The question has come up a few times in the forums without an answer.

Anyone who can write Zencart mods is probably waiting for 2.0 to be released, but you might try the Commercial Help Wanted forum.

The separate site would work, too.
