checkout_shipping showing a blank page...

I've figured out what the problem is, but not the solution.

I have edited the includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/flat.php file from this:

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_TEXT_TITLE', 'Flat Rate');

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_TEXT_DESCRIPTION', 'Flat Rate');

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_TEXT_WAY', 'Best Way');

To this:

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_TEXT_TITLE', 'United States Postal Service');

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_TEXT_DESCRIPTION', 'Flat Rate');

define('MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_TEXT_WAY', 'Flat Rate Priority Mail (2 - 3 days)');

And uploaded the edited flat.php to my overrides folder here: includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/smarmy/flat.php

This shows up all fine and dandy on the shipping estimator and on the shopping cart page, but when I try to proceed to checkout_shipping, I get a blank page.

If I get rid of the flat.php override, checkout works fine.

I found this thread, so I tried making an override in the modules to match the override in the languages like so:

/includes/modules/shipping/smarmy/flat.php

I didn't make any edits to that file, because I wasn't sure if I needed to. I'm still having the same problem of the blank checkout_shipping page.

Is there something I need to change in the
/includes/modules/shipping/smarmy/flat.php override to get it to match up with the language override?

Any help would be much appreciated!

The brackets (2 - 3 days) between the quotes are ok, I tested this procedure on a demo site and she works..

Does your flat.php file look like this??

I am thinking you deleted the ?> at the endIt's often a good idea to delete the ?> at the end of the file if there's nothing else coming after it ... that way blank lines don't accidentally cause unexpected problems.

I did indeed have the ?> at the end of the file, so I deleted that and the blank lines after it, and it seems to be working now!

Thanks so much for the help. I never would have been able to set up my new store if this forum (and all of the knowledgeable, helpful people in it) didn't exist.
