Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

Using zen 1.38 on a fresh install. Used the classic temp, no addons or anything installed.

Bare with me, i'm a programmer at heart, but hate php with a passion, call it a bad teacher... Also I installed zencart last night, so if I seem thick at first, its because, well.... at this point I am.

First, how do I remove unused links from the sitemap? I've read the tut's and other forum Q's but I haven't seen this yet. Please see :
http://project-computers.com/index.php?main_page=site_map and at the bottom you will notice that I removed the name of a file at some point, but it did not remove the bulletin. Also I created EZ-Pages version of Information bar, and stopped using the one provided and it is sitting in limbo as well. Since I do not plan on using some of them, will having loose files be a problem, meaning I don't plan on using "Page 4" so I have not deleted it, but should I, and if so how?

More importantly, and i'm assuming I accidentally did this at some point. My url is: http://www.project-computers.com/ after clicking on a link, say home you are taken too http://project-computers.com/ notice no www. It also stretches the site a bit, giving the pictures a blurry appearance. I use Immotion Hosting that provides an install of Zen for you. How I can I have my site link to www, and why would it be a slightly stretched site when its not? Thoughts?

Thanks!

that did it, thanks!!

Still need help on things I stated above. Also what is required in changing page_2 to a different name so http://project-computers.com/index.php?main_page=page_2 would become http://project-computers.com/index.php?main_page=whateveriwant?

Pr,
You are most welcome, glad I could help you..

includes/ languages/ your_template/ english.php

  1. Search for:
  2. Page 2
  3. Remember to leave the Single quotes ''
  4. define('BOX_INFORMATION_PAGE_2', 'Page 2');
  5. Change the highlighted text above to whatever you like

Re: Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

thanks again for the quick reply

Unfortunately I do not have any files in the /includes/languages/classic / field. I do however have the requested file in the /includes/languages folder. But, I already changed that so that so that it says "AMD" on the main page left hand side nav bar titled chip manufacturers. Would it require renaming the page_2 file to something other than and then editing the link to point to it? If so where do I do that at?

Re: Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

I changed every instance of page_2 to AMD in my files, all DEV Tool Kit brings up for page_2 under look in all files is a couple comments, still missing something no information shows up, I can edit it under the Define Pages Editor, but nothing shows up when I do...

Changed around 10 files, is their any easier way? Maybe making a new page entirely?

Thanks for any help

Re: Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

Ignore the previous two questions. I will simply use EZ-Pages to create them and deal with the random(ish) url that creates.

I also fixed the www. issue so now my website resolves at http://www. instead of only http://

Where do you edit the site map so I can add the EZ-pages I create to it. Should I add meta tags to the EZ-Pages so bots can find it, I heard/read about that somewhere is it important?

Re: Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

Greetings Everyone!
I went through my templates stylesheet and removed and/or edited the link names in the Information box. I also turned off the More Information box through the admin section however, I just realized that there are two blank bulleted spots and Pages 2-4 are still there. Here's a visual for you: http://www.thousandstitches.com/shop/index.php?main_page=site_map

Please advise on removing this.

Thanks!

Re: Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

Try Configuration --> Define Page Status

If you set the pages you don't want to "3", they are removed from the Sitemap.

Re: Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

Thanks, I've been able to remove the pages that I will not be using by setting their value to 3. Unfortunately, there are two blank bulleted items at the bottom of my list on the site map. How do I remove that?

ZC_Nebie,
What version of zen cart are you using...
I just tested this in 139h and it works perfect..

configuration / define page status

  1. define page 2 and i set the value to 3
  2. now on side box and site map all is erased..

Re: Removing Links From Site Map / Rndm Questions

I'm using 139e.

I just followed the steps again and nothing: It's gone from the Side Box but in the site map there are two blank bullets.

What am I doing wrong?
