Gone about this Zen Cart setup all wrong

Hi,

I need some advice. I am new to this Zen Cart and have learned tons on this forum so Thank you!

My situation is a combination of things.

1. My template is from Template Monster
2. My Hosting is with Go Daddy

So as you can probably predict, my site is extremely slow. I have read the postings and realize that I need to probably move to a Zen Cart certified Host, but I was hoping that some of you that have a moment could pop on and verify this decision is what I need.

I believe that part of my problem is bad PHP code, and bad Hosting. BUT I don't want to go through all the work of moving my Hosting and still have an extremely slow site and to discover it is bad PHP code.

I have tested in a number of browsers. IE is the worst of them all, but that was not a shock. I have 1 categories which is extremely large and has tons of subcategories/products
that displayed a parse time of 31.167 # of Queries 16581 and query time of 19.376......

on this forum , no one seems to favor godaddy when it comes to dynamic pages. specially zencart . so yes , godaddy to some degree to blame with slow site . high pars time suggest overloaded server.

you can use this tool to cut your query by half ..

suggesting to download from author site as the new version has not made it to download section yet.

if you think your template might be also effecting your speed . from admin switch to classic template and test your site for speed again .

i don't think template itself would slow the site down , but then again , you never know when it comes to TM .. :P

   Is your problem....although using Template Monster template
   is also not a good idea...search forums for both..

I switched to the classic template and still slow. I guess it is my hosting.

The Query_Cache is still showing as Version 1.0 in the downloads section.

They updated it and the one i'm now using is version 1.6 and it cuts the queries even better so there is even less queries than version 1 of the module.
