Directory paths and IIS

I'm currently running a few Zen Cart sites within an IIS environment.

Normally, directory paths in IIS (when using PHP) would be entered as follows.

C:\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\zencart\\

However, using a single forward will suffice, instead of the double backslash.

In addition to this, when entering in the Session Directory (from the Zen Cart Admin) the second backslash is removed after hitting the update button.

Could someone advise me of the best practice here, please?

With Zen Cart, is it best to us the single forward slash or double backslash technique?
