Possible problem with Override System

It is my understanding that the Override System should work for the following module file structure:

includes

modules
Your Template
I have added the following files structure:

includes

modules
Your Template
pages
popup_image > jscript_main.php
However, the original system file still functions. Also, as a test, if I rename the original file jscript_main.php to jscript_main.old the popup window fails even though I have added the additional override file structure.

All the other Override System structures I have used work fine.

Re: Possible problem with Override System

There is no override capability for files in the folder includes/modules/pages - it's not a bug.

  1. select the overrides chart
  2. download the .zip
  3. unzip
  4. then print
  5. Very hand to see on a piece of paper the structure of the override system

Re: Possible problem with Override System

OK, I am a bit confused. Below is a copy of the Override System that I have.

The Override System - Wherever you see a folder named "classic" you can safely add your own /CUSTOM folder.

includes
    languages
        classic
        CUSTOM
         english
             classic
            CUSTOM
            extra_definitions
                classic
                CUSTOM
            html_includes
                classic
                CUSTOM
            images
            modules
                order_total
                    classic
                    CUSTOM
                payment
                    classic
                    CUSTOM
                shipping
                    classic
                    CUSTOM
    modules
        classic
        CUSTOM
         debug_blocks
         order_total
         pages
         payment
         shipping
         sideboxes
             classic
            CUSTOM
    templates
        classic
        CUSTOM
        template_default

Replace CUSTOM with your own folder name.
```I must be reading the graph incorrectly.  Is everyone saying that **pages** can not be replaced under **CUSTOM**?
Re: Possible problem with Override System
Yes, there is no override for "pages" as of now
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me
Re: Possible problem with Override System
Read the read_me_onload.html file in the docs folder of your
downloaded Zen Cart distribution files. Maybe that can help you get to where you want to be.
Re: Possible problem with Override System
Also, there is not much information about the read_me_onload.html file process in the forum. However, you can look at http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Customisation_-_Templates_-_Javascript for additional information.
Re: Possible problem with Override System
Quick rule of thumb... Anywhere you see a "classic" folder, you can create a folder for your custom template. If there's no "classic" folder, there's no override available.
afo, that was the rule I was using, only I was looking at the wrong level. Pages is not under custom but on the same level as custom. I just interpreted incorrectly. The pdf graphic in the download section really shows the levels nicely.
Afo, normally I am not this dense. Thanks for your help.
PS. What a great forum.
Re: Possible problem with Override System
TShooters thank you for the complements, but all the hand made jewelry is designed and made by my wife. :blush: All I do is photo, catalog, build, and run the site. Checked your good looking site and I can see you know all about hand made items.
Again thanks for the tip on using read_me_onload.html file.
