The top logo looks fine in Firefox however in Internet Explorer there is a white border at the top of it and for the life of me i cannot figure out how to get rid of it, its driving me crazy. any help would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance :)

Re: issues with IE and logo

Only a guess without seeing the tpl_header code

You have a defined tag ".topper-menu li " that it appears you are not using - see if you can locate it in the code and coment out or delete

Also, have you reset your sideboxes??

admin > tools > layout boxes controller > reset

Re: issues with IE and logo

hi thanks for replying that section is :

.topper-menu li {
font: 11px verdana;
float: left;

}

i have removed it and it didn't do anything unfortunately it stayed the same, iv'e tried setting the background color to black but that didn't work either :huh:

as for the side boxes im trying a couple layouts, i might just have one or two boxes on the right, going for a clean look, not sure how well its going to work yet, some experimenting is required :lookaroun

\Guess I was not clear enough...
What you removed was the css from the stylesheet and this is only for the purpose of styling elements that the code places.

Check your template /common/tpl_header.php file where I suspect this is generated and comment or remove it there

Re: issues with IE and logo

this is the problem

<div class="topper-menu float-right"> </div>

which is contained in header.

you can try adding this to see if it works

.topper-menu {
display:none;
}

or just remove that div from header. , everything about it is wrong..

is topper-menu float-top a class id ?

how changing float-right to float-top fixed that issue in IE is beyond me ..

class id's can not contain spaces as far as i know .
there is no float top in style
only float right or left .
if that is style . then is wrong way to write ..

it should be
example .

<div class="topper-menu" style="float:right;"></div> im just kinda curious ..

Re: issues with IE and logo

unfortunately i have no idea i'm still quite new to the PHP and CSS, if you want to investigate the template im using is called pure black.

i know what you mean know, with what i've learnt so far

A. changing float-right to float-top shouldn't fix it

and

B. the code should be written as <div class="topper-menu" style="float:right;">

but thats the way the template was written, editing it is becoming a complexed maze, but i'm getting there..... slowly
