Changing Category

Novice question.

I made two category for my products:-

  1. Vehicle (Here I added five products)

                First Product
                Second Product
                Third Product
                Forth Product.
                Fifth Product.

I WANT THIS WHEN THE USER CLICK THE VEHICLE CATEGORY OR HARDWARE CATEGORY.

  1. Hardware (Here I added 2 Products)

          First Product.
          Second Product

What I want that when the user clicks Vehicle Category these five products will show below the Category Name Indented (inline), and the user can click the respective product to view the product details and so on.

I want this style for each category. Is it possible?

Where should I go to make the changes? In general it seems that it is in the CSS.

Kindly Give me some hints

Regards

Re: Changing Category

For best response post a link to your site!!

admin > config > layout settings > Categories Separator between the Category Name and Sub Categories > |_

Depening on how indented you want it you can alter the highlighted

Re: Changing Category

Kindly don't be impatient , I am new here and just seek some assistance.

Kindly visit this site , this is not mine but I am trying to develop one at my own server ( local) here is the link of the site I am mentioning.

http://www.htpradios.com/store
http://www.htpradios.com/store

In the categories section if we click on Radios it will open two product below " Portables" and " Mobiles" and on the bottom of the header there are some menu items "HOME", "CATEGORIES","INFORMATION","CONTACT US " AND SO ON with some drop down menu when the user hover over these menu items. I am trying to make one such and post this question here. May be I couldn't describe everything properly but trying to explain which one I am talking about. Sorry for disturbing you.

Once again thank you "KOBRA" for your reply and doing so much effort to help me.

Thank you once again.

Re: Changing Category

I mentioned earlier that I am learning now how to customize page layout and other things . I also mentioned that I am very new here. I am trying to learn all these things in my local server (wamp) after installing Zen Cart 1.3.8 naturally I have no ready site installed into the server to show you right now. I am just trying to learn Zen Cart with your all of your help.

I think I am taking your valuable time very much.

Once again thanks for your reply and waiting for some assistance.

Re: Changing Category

" Portables" and " Mobiles" are not products but subcategories of Radios.

For your original question, displaying individual products in the categories sidebox menu, you can put each of those products into a subcategory named the same as the product, and set admin > Configuration > Layout Settings > Skip 1-prod categories to true. Then when one of those subcats is clicked, its one product will display immediately.

In order to make the subcats, you will first have to move all of the products to another category temporarily. Then you can create the subcats, and move the products back into their correct subcats.
