Custom confirmation emails for each product

I have the need to send out custom confirmation emails for certain products. For example, if someone buys a model X drill, they need to receive an email that gives them specific info about the model X drill, how do download projects they can make with it and accessories they can purchase. The email only applies to that particular product.

Is there a way to set up zen-cart to send out product-specific emails when someone purchases a given product?

That sort of thing is not currently built-in.

But, you could write (or hire someone to write) custom code to scan the order details and send additional product-specific emails, either while the order is being completed, or after-the-fact perhaps a couple times per day, etc.
