PLEASE HELP - Bulleted lists not showing up in custom template

Zen Cart Version: 1.3.8A
Installed: Cold Steel Template, Image Handler 2

This is my first post here, thanks in advance for any help!

My problem is with bullet lists, using the <li> html tag. The bullets are not showing up in the item description area. If I switch back to the regular "Default" Classic Green template, the bullets show up like I want them to!

What do I need to do to allow bullet lists in the Cold Steel template using the <li> html tags?

I can't get my list items to show up with bullets. I actually removed the "list-style:none" to see if that would have any effect and it did not. I added a color item to the "#productDescription ul li" to make sure I was in the right area and it definitely changed the color of the text. I have changed a few items in the style sheet mainly colors and the sizes of some of fonts but nothing that I believe can be causing this problem. I've also removed the font information so I can have the font the same size as the other text in the product description to no effect.

I did switch to the classic template and the bullets show up okay so I am assuming that the list itself is okay.

Try deleting your stylesheet_old.css

and then follow the instructions given by gjh42

I have this problem too. Can anyone see what is wrong here? I have tried to delete all the "list-style-type: none"; i can find but without success.

The bulleted list shows when i switch over to classic template.

For example this page below is supposed to show with bulleted list in the specifications (it did before):

Besides..the template which i need the bulleted list to appear is is named "blue". On template "red" i get it up.

That list is set to inline display, negating all list styling.

Do you use web developer tool for firefox and see the code about at top when you go to "CSS-View CSS" ?

Yes Glenn. It whas that one.

I downloaded all blue template folder and then by using the software Textcrawler i searched for> ul li { display: inline; }. It appeared to be in file: tpl_modules_main_product_image.php

I just used Firebug on that one, and saw that the rule was applied to the list items. Looking again in Web Developer, it is an embedded style, which was in some PHP file. -OK, in that particular file:)

I am running ZC 139h. The problem I'm having with bulleted lists isn't really related to the issues discussed in this thread, however, it seems the best place to ask:

I use an unorganized bulleted list on many of my product descriptions using HTML bullet list coding (<UL><LI><LI><LI></UL>).

When going to any individual product page on my store which has a bulleted description list it shows up normally such as:

• Is green
• Great for parties
• Easy on the eyes
• Price is competitive

Each individual product page isn't a problem in displaying the bulleted list. Where it falls short is when I click on a product category and the resulting page list of products show with their partial product descriptions showing. The bulleted list coding (the <UL><LI>, etc.) is all stripped out resulting in the following product description:

Is greenGreat for partiesEasy on the eyesPrice is competitive

This also occurs when doing a product search. I see the above product descriptions all running together with no bulleting on the search results page along with the image(s).

Any ideas on where I might correct this? Could it be the custom template I'm using or ? Is it correctable or no? Am I better off not trying to use bulleted lists and just run the product info all in a few lines of text separated by commas?

Can give example links to my store showing what's happening if more clarity is needed.

HTML is stripped out of the product descriptions for the listing page, because they are usually truncated, and cutting off HTML closing tags would be very bad.

You can enable HTML for the product listing page easily - search the forum for zen_clean_html for the directions. If you do this, be careful to not truncate descriptions, by setting the description display length to longer than you will ever use.
