Credit Card Payments - Over the Phone

I getting close to get some sort of credit card processing on our website, however i was hoping to get some friendly advice from those of you who've had some experience in this field...

I am thinking of going with Authorize.net... but not sure if i'll be able to process payments over the phone... as in Customer calls, gives me credit card info... can i process it myself, or will i have to require customer to go online themselves...

I am sure there is a simple solution... If only somebody could share the secret with me ;0)

If you go with Authorize.net, you will get a web-based terminal which you can use to process payments taken from customers from avenues other than your website.
You will also manage all your received payments using that same web-based site.
