Passing variable to contact us for To field in store settings

I am a newbie to Zen Cart. I am taking on one that is already set up. The contact us page is set up in the store config. It has a drop down list with the different contacts. Is there a way I can pass the contact they want and it will polulate the form To: field?

Or Can I create seperate contact page for each department? The one in define page editor is not being use. Not sure how to use this section for a form?

Surely there's a "why" behind your question, which might help explain more about the particular problem you're trying to solve?

How can I pass a department name to the contact us page to populate the TO: field instead of using the drop down list from the admin config?

I am a newbie and the site was already set up. In the email options there is the Email drop down already set up, my client would like to be able to pass the department name and populate that field from differnet links.

Surely the dropdown system offers exactly what you want?

By populating the dropdown (in ADMIN>>>CONFIGURATION>>>EMAIL OPTIONS) as follows (for example):-

Customer Services <[email protected]>, Technical Help <[email protected]>, Sales <[email protected]>

... you get precisely the effect you desire...
