Removing "Additional Contact Details" on registration page

I am starting to get the hold of this fantastic software now, and with the excellent help here I have been able to do things I never thought I would manage.

There is one detail which I have not been able to find out how to do, that is removing the "Additional Contact Details" - Telephone field from the registration page. It appears this is not an option in the admin/configuration/customer details. I have set the fax number to false, which did not affect the "Additional Contact Details" - Telephone - I also removed the value (left it blank) in admin/configuration/minimum value but the "required field and * is still there. (My version is Zen Cart v1.3.8a/v1.3.8)

Thanks, that is interesting! I see that the "Telephone Not Required on Signup" add on was written to work with ZC version 1.3.6. Not having any programming experience I don't know if I should try installing it on version 1.3.8.

The existence of this add on probably indicates that there is no easy way to turn the "Additional Contact Details" off in a clean install of ZC?
