Pricing Atribute, REALLY CONFUSED

I have a price attribute under "Prices and Weight" in the admin section that reads reads + 3.0000 This is the first entry on the left under Price and Weights

When I place an order for a product with this attribute, (attribute selection says (+ $3.00) and the base prices is $56.00.

When I enter "Add to Cart" the next page shows a unit price of $112.00.

I am wanting the unit price should be $59.00 (56.00+3.00) not the $112.00

What is happening and how can I fix it.

Check that inside the attribute setting you have in the first box of products and weights + then the 3.00 in price factor area. NO other boxes should have anything at all in them.

Then check your product information itself and ensure your quantity is set to 1.

I'm assuming it may have something to do with quantity being set to 2 somewhere.
