free Download without login?

How can I set up a downloadable MP3 file so it is seen as a Free product, and the customer does not need to be logged in to download? I have several tracks that play well, but the audio is too poor to sell, so I offer them for the afficianados that can ignore the distortion, but they have o log in to get them. I'd like to avoid that (I can always put a straight download link on the main site (http://www.thesoundsmith.com but I want to get them into the store browsing.

I assume this is some attribute or another, but i don't see it...

Thanks.

Re: free Download without login?

You probably figured this out, but just in case someone else needs to know. It's a simple matter to place anything you want on an EZ Page. I've put order forms on such a page because I want my wholesale customers to be able to download them with just a few clicks, without logging in. The forms are PDFs, but you could do the same with MP3s or any other file type.

Re: free Download without login?

Even with this information I haven't been able to do it. I am trying to add a word document to an EZ page for the customers to download an order form for my personalised items.
Can anybody explain me with a bit more detail?
Thank you for any help.

Re: free Download without login?

I found some information online and I have been trying different options without any luck.

I put a word document (order_form) in public_html/docs and I tried to link to it in different ways with the following results

<p><a href="http://docs/order_form.doc">click here to download</a></p>

Server not found
Firefox can’t find the server at docs.

<p><a href="http://diytmededweddings.com/docs/order_form.doc">click here to download</a></p>

Firefox can't find the server at diytmededweddings.com.

<p><a href="http://order_form.doc">click here to download</a></p>

Firefox can't find the server at order_form.doc.

Please, I know it is easy but I can't figure it out.

Thank you for any help.

Re: free Download without login?

some other things I have tried

<p><a href="/docs/order_form.doc">click here to download</a></p>

Error 404 page not found and it takes me to the site map

I also followed some instructions to create a php. File, that I saved in the same folder as the document to download and named it the same.

<?php header('Content-disposition: attachment; filename=order_form.doc'); header('Content-type: application/doc'); readfile('order_form.doc'); ?>

Linked to it
<a href="order_form.doc">Download Order Form</a>

I have tried this last option with the files in the download folder and the docs folder

ERROR 404 - PAGE NOT FOUND
Oops! Looks like the page you're looking for was moved or never existed.
Make sure you typed the correct URL or followed a valid link.

Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong?

I have no problem linking to images or embeding videos.
