Re: really confused!

You're going to have to remake your design in Zen Cart. Zen Cart is not designed to be added on to an existing site. If you tell us the URL of your current design, we can advise on how easy/hard that might be, and may even be able to suggest an existing template which will get you more than half way to where you need to go.

Re: really confused!

Without knowing more about what you did and what you originally had, it's difficult to say why Zen Cart is coming up instead of the page(s) you created.

As the others said, Zen Cart is designed to run the entire site. It's not an add-on to an existing site, but you can get lots of different looks using Zen Cart.

Re: really confused!

If I understand the original post, it sounds like he uploaded the zencart files to the root of his site, which then over-wrote his current website.

It takes a little time to get your bearings with the zencart file structure.

Re: really confused!

There are plenty of free templates available for Zen Cart. You can see them at http://(sorry, site offline)/. Use the pull down menu to select the template you'd like to see. You can then download the template and follow the included instructions on how to upload it to your website.

Re: really confused!

If you point your browser to https://www.burstingwithfavours.co.uk/index.html you'll see your original site.

Zencart uses index.php for the start page. In most hosting enviornments, index.html is loaded before index.php, but not in yours, I guess.

Re: really confused!

Who is your host?

You can link to Zencart from your existing page by installing Zencart in a subdirectory. You can't really use Zencart as a backend cart script.

Re: really confused!

Stevesh is right... Zencart is designed to be your site, and you cannot (easily) embed zencart into "existing" html pages.

You CAN, however "incorporate" html pages into your zencart site - as long as you understand that, for the most part, the e-commerce functionality of the site relies entirely on zencart code, templating and database structures. You make your HTML pages look like Zencart pages, rather than the other way round...

I am busy helping hummingbirdbooks.co.uk to invoke a "simple" subscription-based website, and the methodology we have chosen (for various technical reasons) makes use of BOTH zencart functionality and set-up, AND a few "flat" html files.

If you look at the hummingbirdbooks.co.uk site, you'll see what I mean.
