Need Per Unit perweightunit shipping to appear ONLY for items OVER certain weight

The issue is this:

The freight shipping calculates based on dimensions, as well as weight.

So, for larger items, I will be utilizing the perweightunit shipping module, entering the weight for the item incorrectly, as follows:

perweight unit = 1; item shipping weight = actual cost of shipping provided by freight carrier.

Aside from showing a shipping weight that is WAY off (issue 1)
(probably not the worst issue--maybe a breif explanation will help users?)

there is also a problem that items that are NOT large / heavy enough to ship with the freight carrier also display the perweight unit along with the other USPS and PS shipping methods. (issue 2) (So, if an item is .6 lb, the perweightunit option will show $.60, which is way too low.

I need the perweight unit shipping option to NOT appear for items under, let's say 30 'pounds'. (Again, for items requiring freight, I will be entering the freight price as shipping)

This is Ok in reverse: The USPS and UPS options generally disappear because the freight 'weight' is usually in the hundreds, or more.

(Also: Local pickup of item should ALWAYS appear, no matter what the weight / size is!!)

I found that the first issue can be addressed.

The FAQ area has files covering this.

So there is a way to keep the weight (which is now not really a weight when dealing with perweightunit module shipping) from appearing.

As far issue 2, cited above....So far the only solution is to NOT offer USPS and UPS for smaller items, and instead offer a shipping price that is flat to the zone, using the perweightunit module for ALL items, large and small.

This is not exactly the goal, but it is a solution, for now.

The Per Unit perweightunit shipping module was not really designed to work with other "weight" shipping modules as the products_weight is converted to the shipping cost ... where on the other "weight" modules the products_weight is used to "obtain" the shipping cost from the total weight ...

Can you slowly break down the type of products and shipping weights that you have vs the shipping costs that you have and what "should" happen on a mixed cart where "some" products would be USPS and others based on the Per Unit perweightunit ...
