Re: Need More Business

A link to your site would help.

Re: Need More Business

pet--------land-------plus.com no dashes... I dont think its the design, its just getting my website out there because pet supplies is a huge market.

Any reviews on bizrate anything better, the only thing i dont like is their minimum $100 deposite after the one time $50 deposite is it that effective or is there better method.

Re: Need More Business

Hi Petland,

Your design is not very good, as you admit yourself. The logo in particular is terrible. That has to go! The dog looks like it has a horseshoe instead of a mouth!!! Some of the big images on the home page and others looked squashed up. That needs looking at.

Also when you click on larger images they stay the same size, that's always annoying to customers!

Some of your descriptions are too brief. Try to sell the items more, tell people how it will improve their pets quality of life etc...

on this page http://www.petlandplus.com/dog-c-1.html,
whats the dotted lines under the Featured products pics for?? That doesn't look right.

A polished design really is one of the keys to success. When's the last time you heard of an successful ecommerce website that looked rubbish... exactly!

You've got a really good product range but the design is letting you down. Get a pro, now!

Good luck

John

Re: Need More Business

If you're really getting only one visitor a month, the problem isn't with your site's design. I've seen a lot worse.

Do you have any redirects or weird .htaccess stuff going on?

Re: Need More Business

I looked at your site, and coming from someone with 3 dogs, the idea of a pet store is great. It will be hard for you to compete in this area unless you are targeting a specialized market. Many people like me go to one or two very large internet sites, where we can get most everything that we want in one stop. So, for a smaller store to get sales, they have to be more targeted in what they stock. Such as high end products, products for the dog show exhibitors, or products that few other stores are selling etc.

You might look into advertising on show superintendent's websites, infodog, or breed club websites. Good luck, I hope it works out well for you.
