Has problem with deleted products in NEW PRODUCTS been resolved?

version 1.3.8a

Has problem with deleted products in NEW PRODUCTS been resolved? I know recently I read this was a known problem, deleted products appearing in the NEW PRODUCTS such as on the home page NEW PRODUCT grid. For example, I created a TEST product. Then deleted it, but still shows up on a main category page.
