Customer Quote System can it be done?

Hi, i have looked around the addons and cannot seem to find what i after.

What i am trying to achieve is, for a customer to configure there product via attributes.

Then, if they choose, to have the price and details e-mailed to them with a reference or "quote" number, which would also be on my system.

if there is no addon could this be done by a contact form perhaps? which maybe captures all the information on the page, i might just barking up the wrong tree with the contact form idea, but any help would be great thanks

click tell me the price then at the bottom of the next page there is a quote system...

If you have the configurator/attributes functioning what one could do is to clone/create a payment module(maybe COD or store pickup) rename this new clone to "Quote" and set the appropriate order status for it in the admin.
This would allow you to know that it is a quote and not an order and would maintain it for the customer....
If they create an account - you really do not have to do any of this as they can maintain this in their cart??? But could not then make some other purchase without removing it from there cart...
