SitemapXML v.2

Kevin205:

  1. Is there a way to eliminate the generation of **sitemap/sitemapezpages.xml ** and **sitemap/sitemapreviews.xml **? As some people do not want them to get them submitted!

  2. Which .xml file would you use, if you are submitting your site's xml, to other search engines through other means other that zen-cart?

  3. Can sitemap/sitemapcategories.xml and or sitemap/sitemapproducts.xml be submitted individually and not together?

  1. Remove the appropriate modules
  2. Did not understand the question
  3. Yes

Thank you for your reply.

1. Remove the appropriate modules
Where can these modules be found?

2. Did not understand the question
Some sites allow you to submit your web site to more than just Google, Bing and ask. You would have show the path to your site's xml, in order for them to submit your site.

For example: The direct path that shows the .xml for all your products (http : // www DOT YourDomain DOT com/Directory?/File?.xml)
I hope it makes sense?

3. Yes
How can they individually be submitted?

I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

Re: SitemapXML v.2

Sorry for the re-post, did not meet the 7 minute time allowance.

Looking for the direct path that shows the .xml for all your products.

Is the this the path: http:// MyDomain.com/Store/sitemap.xml?

it shows:
http: //MyDomain.com/sitemap/sitemapcategories.xml 2013-04-15
http: //MyDomain.com/sitemap/sitemapezpages.xml 2013-04-15
http: //MyDomain.com/sitemap/sitemapmainpage.xml 2013-04-15
http: //MyDomain.com/sitemap/sitemapmanufacturers.xml 2013-04-15
http: //MyDomain.com/sitemap/sitemapproducts.xml 2013-04-15

And I do not want to show sitemapcategories.xml and sitemapezpages.xml

I hope it makes sense?

There are several files there. Which one do you modify or delete, to eliminate generation of sitemapcategories.xml and sitemapezpages.xml?

Re: SitemapXML v.2

Surprised?
Let me explain what I need,

When you select the check box in front of “Force rebuild all sitemap.xml files!” and press send* under Admin>Tools> Sitemap XML, the following pages get regenerated in the sitemap/ folder:

Sitemapcategories.xml
sitemapezpages.xml
sitemapmainpage.xml
sitemapmanufacturers.xml
sitemapproducts.xml
sitemapreviews.xml

and** sitemap.xml** file at the root level gets populated and regenerated with the above files.

How do I prevent the generation of sitemapezpages.xml and sitemapxml_categories.php in both locations; in sitemap/ folder and the ** sitemap.xml** ,file at root?

Andrew that did it. Thank you.

How often do you recommend updating the site xml? Daily, Weekly, etc.

Re: SitemapXML v.2

One more question. Even thought the file extension is .xml and it is a file containing xml format. It is producing html like output with a style.

Would that be a problem for search engines?

Re: SitemapXML v.2

Dear a_bezerin,

First: thank you so much for this great module. I use it about 3 years and still love it! Today i've upgrade tot the newest version and noticed something strange (although this strange thing was also happening with the older versionsof sitemapXML).

When I create the sitemap everythings goes great. Categories etc is all fine, but on products sitemap I have a strange issue:

all the product urls are okay, except the urls from one particular Parent Category ("Chunks"). The only generate url is -c-0/"product name". Please see http://www.charms.nl/sitemap/sitemapproducts.xml
and http://www.charms.nl As you can see in the sitemap from the products all the products are good except for the products in parent category chunks. The url on our site is right.

Please notice i'm using SSU (simple seo url) for url rewriting.

Do you have any idea what the problem is? I already tried changing the name of: subcategories, parentcategories. Always followed by a total cache refresh for SSU.

Thanks already!

On your site under "Customers who bought this product also purchased..." the URLs being generated for products in "chunks" also contain "-c-0/name". I do not use SSU, but as the generation of URLs is not consistent on your site I would venture something is off with SSU... You may want to try resetting the affected category and products URLs in SSU.

Hi,

lhungil:

lhungil beat me to it :)

Can you temporally disable SSU and check sitemap and block "Customers who bought this product also purchased..." on http://www.charms.nl/chunks-horloge-chunks-c-43_46/horloge-chunk-wit-p-946 ?

Re: SitemapXML v.2

Hi,

First off, thanks for your wonderful contributions to the Zencart software.

I am having a little difficulty generating an XML sitemap. I installed the plug-in correctly (I think, as the admin controls seem to be working fine) but when I click "send" under create/update sitemap from within admin>tools>sitemap XML a web page opens with "could not find www.drillplace.comindex.php"

I see the problem with the / missing in that address.

I noticed a similar problem with the plugin specifying a location for the search engines to find the sitemap in the overview section of the admin tools where it indicates http://www.drillplace.comsitemap.xml as the address.
I was able to fix this by changing the filename for the sitemap from sitemap to /sitemap in the config, but I still cannot simply generate an XML sitemap to the sitemap folder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Warren

Re: SitemapXML v.2

OK. I began to think the problem was omitting the instructions for using this mod with the admin user profiles contribution. I never installed any contribution, but it appears stock in 1.5.1. So, next, it now resides in admin access management, but there is nothing called admin settings. Is it called page registration now???? If so, what is the information to enter on this screen, i.e. what page name etc... that the page asks for?????
Just trying to get a better understanding of the install process as it appears the instructions that come with this mod are outdated?

Check your admin configure.php. Constant 'DIR_WS_CATALOG'.
