Desperately need help with CSS to get header graphics to work

This one is beyond me. If you look at the source code of my shop you will see:

In the stylesheet it says:

.head {background:url(../images/bg_head.gif);}

.head_r {background:url(../images/bg_head_r.jpg) right top no-repeat; width:866px; height:192px;}

Yet if you look at the shop in a browser, there is no header! The div doesn't appear.

This may shed some light on things: I created a flash banner and added the code to tpl_header.php. To get rid of the former banner image, I set the heigt of the div.head_r to 0px.

Now I want things back as they were. I deleted the flash code from tpl_header.php and set the height of the div.head_r back to 192px. But the header won't re-appear! I really don't know what to do. Any help is greatly appreaciated!
