Help needed - master category

Hello can somebody please help.

I am running v 1.38

I had a problem with a product upload that i think was to large and it screwed up the whole category, i was able to finally move the other products to another category, i tried making a new category but had a problem when i moved those products back they were able to be seen in the ADMIN but not live on the site in the category, the products could be searched and found though. Have i stuffed those product up now for linking to new categories?, is there a way to clean those products and start them as if they had just been listed fresh??

My second bit of fun is some how during this i uploaded a new product and it is live on the site but has Home as the master category and is not searchable in the ADMIN, is there a way i can find this product to give it a master category? or a way to just delete it and start again, i just can not find it in the admin.

will reuploading the same product and code number fix this or make things worse listing the same product twice?

I must say i am confused over this, since all this happened i am still able to upload and link new products and all on the site is working fine, i think the problem is confined to the now deleted master category. Unfortunatly i don't have a data base back up that will fix all this as it auto backed up on the server when all this was going on, worse luck INDEED!! my last back up was months ago and i can not go back as to much has been done since.

Any help and advice would be muchly appieciated. :wacko:

I am assuming you are using Easy populate of similar.... I would personally drop the product related tables and re upload the whole thing before I went digging to far.
