Main page Featured products -- need full description

In Configuration / Featured Listing I have set Display Description to 9000 characters (and a million other variations) and CANNOT get it to display more than about 115 characters.

I NEED it to display a minimum of 500 characters on my CENTER HOME page.

Nothing is working and I cannot find where to make changes outside of Admin area.

Any ideas? I thought Featured Listing was supposed to control this?

Re: Main page Featured products -- need full description

.... I'm using a Monster Template that my client selected, and their tech support folks went in and fixed SOMETHING that fixed it ;) not sure quite what tho. (the template has been a nightmare for customizations, btw)
Thanks Linda.

Re: Main page Featured products -- need full description

It seems that Monster Templates are probably a lot more trouble than they may be worth. But it seemed an affordable option for my client whose budget would not have accomodated a full design-from-scratch customized zen site. Live and learn I guess!

Re: Main page Featured products -- need full description

Unfortunately, we often find the cheap ain't and shortcuts don't.

Too many times, TMs templates have wound up costing way more in the long run.

IF someone is NEVER contemplating more customization of mods, it MIGHT be a good investment.

If they really had some talent, they could make the same looks without hard coding. It would make sense if they were charging to "repair" a template for you. Since they are not, I wonder at why they would sacrifice their business in such a way.

I prefer to have a lasting relationship with my customers. I doubt that TM has much repeat business.
