Category/SubCategory image and links not displaying

i have the latest zencart on a new install.
My sub category links with pics are not being displayed when you click on the category names.

For example, please click on my link at:
http://www.gelcandleswholesale.com/

then click on the category named ZEN TESTING.
You will see the sub categories open up in red on the left. But aren't we supposed to see the subcat links in the middle of the page being displayed too???

I appreciate anyones help.

What value have you applied to:

Categories - Always Show on Main Page

I have that as set on 1:

Categories - Always Show on Main Page - 1 (on)

Try getting rid of the # symbol in the category names. Just use alpha-numeric for all names.

the # symbol ?

I don't understand, I don't have qty or # shown at the site's categories.

I deleted the '#' but that did not do anything.

I still can't see the image and the sub category names in the center:

This is probably a corrupt template file that is giving you a "partial" blank page.

Take a look at:

includes/templates/template_default/templates/tpl_modules_category_icon_display.php

and see if there are any extra lines or letter spaces after the opening <?php** tag, or the closing **?> tag

You could do this:

1. RE-NAME the following folder on your server...

includes/templates/template_default/templates

to
includes/templates/template_default/templates_original

(now you have a "backup" in place...)

2. FTP a fresh copy of the original folder...

includes/templates/template_default/templates

... to the server.

(It could be that your core template files are corrupted, so you may need to grab a fresh copy of zencart program zip file from sourceforge.)

... in any event, if a file is corrupted it needs to either be repaired, or replaced with a non-faulty file.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I did finally got a chance to do that today and the same problem remains.

I hate to reinstall again since I have the shared ssl setup and all with bluehost.
Any other suggestions?

It could also be a problem with a MODULE file... You may care to try my suggestion above on the MODULE directory...

I just did that too and still not repaired.
Should I be deleting the cates and re-entering them? Or should they just appear?

Any other ideas?

What setting do you have in the Configuration ... Product Listing ...

Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating
Show Sub-Categories on Main Page while navigating through Categories

0= off
1= on

If that is not the problem, do a search in the Developers Tool Kit in the bottom input box for:
tpl_modules_category_row.php

and select Catalog and click search ...

make sure the code is not commented out or missing on your site ...

What are your settings in the Maximum Values for:

Categories To List Per Row
How many categories to list per row

It shows '3' set for Categories To List Per Row.

I retraced my steps and this was the problem...

1= on

I had this set on 0 and it should of been on 1.

I apoligze earliers I stated otherwise.
I had a brain fart.

One final question, how can I have the subs show in 2 columns instead of 1?

It seems to show the rows but the columns are not displaying correctly.

I would like these sub cates:

to appear like these:

You appear to have the one site setup where the Top Level Category has a large image and there isn't a break ( <br />) between the image and the text ...

Maybe a view source will help you see how this is done or a comparrison of the template stylesheets ...
