Product Extra Fields for text, pdfs and flash

How can you delete or un associate the once you upload a pdf file?

For example I have uploaded a pdf for product and it shows fine.
Now I duplicate the product and then rename the product but I want to remove previously uploaded file. I do not want to link to any file. Just leave as blank.

well, that wasn't anticipated! and therefore not possible in admin if I remember correctly. It would have to be a database change. If you are comfortable with working with phpmyadmin, this information is all stored in one table named products_extra_fields. Do a search for the product id that you are wanting to change and edit the field that pdf is in. The only checks for displaying is to have something/ anything in that database field.

Thank you for getting back to my question. Yes as you said I basically deleted in phpMyAdmin.
It would be great if there was an option to delete in case file was old/incorrect one.

hello, instead of uploading file,( i have problems uploading) is there a way we can add a field to put in file name, like we can do for images on product info page?

It's simply way more complicated than that. Otherwise there would be no need for a full mod.

installed this on v 1.56 and it seems to work except when clicking the link, it goes to homepage

When you say the link doesn't work, what link are you talking about? I'm presently working on an update. The changes from 1.5.4 to 1.5.5 are so minor that the mod should work fine. It should work fine with 1.5.6 as well but the changes in the code (which are probably updates for higher levels of PHP) are significant, so though it may work on your cart, it may have issues on php 7.

In the sql is ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1

I got interested in your plugin because google got more serious about using the gtin attribute to submit Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs).
They say "Products submitted without any unique product identifiers are difficult to classify and may not be eligible for all Shopping programs or features.
Your plugin is more than I need, probably I will set up a new DB table with one gtin field that I can update manually.

BTW, it is no longer possible to upload all plugin files, they will need to be merged with any existing files.

I'm well aware this is not up-to-date. It hasn't been touched in a number of versions. I'm no longer able to maintain all my plugins. Therefore, one should use extreme caution and be prepared to merge files into any version you are presently using.

Upgrading from v1.5.5 to 2.0.1.
My v1.5.5 had products_extra_files plugin and all my products have 4-5 files attached to them.
I cannot find anything similar for newer versions.
Any recommendations?

One of the reasons I did this mod was because I didn't find or didn't like anything that was available at the time. I don't know of a substitute. I also have no idea if this is even possible with 2.0.1 like I did it initially as there has been some major changes to core code since. It is upsetting to me that you will be so impacted by upgrading. I actually wrote this more for the flash element than anything else so I assume you have heavily invested in the text fields? If so I expect a careful merge of the database tables would be possible.

I managed to solve it by connecting database tables products_description and products_extra_fields by Products_id - now the files are displayed at the end of product description.
