Stretched in IE8...???

My cart has worked perfectly for years and now when you view it in IE8 it is stretched to the right.... real bad....

Does not do this with any other browser to my knowledge....

Any ideas to what it might be ??

Re: Stretched in IE8...???

First thing you need to do is rename one of your stylesheets. Zencart loads all files with the .css extension that are in the active template's CSS folder, and yours may be fighting each other. Rename stylesheet_original.css to stylesheet.org and see if that helps.

Re: Stretched in IE8...???

Yes, it does show you the template name in Admin - Tools - Template Selection, but you can also see it by viewing the souirce code of one of your pages. You're using the 'Classic' template. My guess would be that's the only one you have installed now, so your stylesheets would be in includes/templates/classic/css.

Re: Stretched in IE8...???

I have two installed by the looks of it....

Default All Classic Template
English Classic Template

So not sure which one is working or maybe both are....????

My freind who is a website developer said that this should work...(his knowledge with zen is limited)

But there is a way around it to force IE8 to interpret the page code as it it is actually IE7. In the head section of the pages you have to insert:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />

Would this work with Zen ??

No idea. As I suggested before, you need to remove or rename one of the stylesheets in your includes/templates/classic/css folder.

Re: Stretched in IE8...???

Nah...tried that... made all the background graphics disappear and made the text and font huge.... was like looking at it in 640x480.

Dunno what else to do.... does 1.3.8 have this problem...?? I never had this problem until IE8 came along.... the way I look at it is if it is not broken why change it....

Any ideas ??

Thanks
Dave

Re: Stretched in IE8...???

Is there anyone that has any information regarding this stretching problem only when viewed with IE8?

I really have to get to the bottom of this problem as I am getting countless emails from customers saying that cannot read the page.

Any thoughts would be great

Cheers
Dave

Re: Stretched in IE8...???

Find #navCatTabs UL li in the new style sheet and try removing the display:inline; part.
