Re: zencart boxes etc on a no zen opening page

Hi, Not exactly what you asked for but I use this to search other zen carts from within an html iframe on my product pages so I imagine it should do as you need

<div id="productSearch"> <form id="quick_find" action="http://www.yourstore.xxx/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result" method="get"> <fieldset> <label for="keyword">Search our product catalogue</label> <input type="text" name="keyword" id="keyword" size="20" maxlength="100" style="width: 145px" value="Enter search keywords" onfocus="if (this.value == 'Enter search keywords') this.value = '';" onblur="if (this.value == '') this.value = 'Enter search keywords';" /> <input name="submit" type="submit" class="submit" value="Go" /> <p><a href="http://www.yourstorexxxco.uk/index.php?main_page=advanced_search">Advanced search ></a></p> <input type="hidden" name="main_page" value="advanced_search_result" /> <input type="hidden" name="search_in_description" value="1" /> </fieldset> </form> </div> you can see it in action here: <http://shop-drogheda.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1>

yes but the zen-cart store is not a SEO optomised as the html pages and the HTML pages get a better google rank for roman shower for example that the store ever has.

to get the store as SEO as my html pages i would have to upgrade to 1.3.8 and install a load of SEO mods like SEO urls etc and these have massive warning about bugs on them....... so if it aint broke dont break it!! IMO

Maybe this:

http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128321

For what it's worth, I'm with Kim on the HTML start page, mostly because as nice as your site looks, I find the navigation to be confusing, mainly due to the start page. When I go to an ecommerce site, I'm expecting to see the cart right off.

The only thing I know about extraordinary methods to increase SEO is that Google (who, after all, is mainly who we're trying to impress) says they aren't necessary, especially the sorts of mods you mentioned.
