Emergency - SaleMaker is not working

It works on some products but not on others ....

Edited: Seems to only work on those products that have NO options.
I can understand a glitch if an option was an additional price (ex. X-large +$2.00), but it's not working on those options that are no additional cost.

It shows the 15% discount ... but it's not being transferred to the cart.

When I set up the sale, I tested and tested and every product I added to the cart showed just fine. But now that we are getting orders for the sale, the prices are not reflecting the sales price.

This is a basic sale: 15% off ... site-wide, all products.

What is wrong ???

None of the 3 conditions (If a product is a special) apply as none of our products ARE specials ... so I have it set on the first one (Ignore specials price) ... since it's the only one that allows for the display of the sale price next to the product. That whole drop down is so unclear.

Check the setting on the Attributes for:

Apply Discounts Used
by Product Special/Sale:
No Yes

Also if you use Linked Products be sure to check the Known Bug Fixes for v1.3.8 ...

I think I found the answer ...

ON the page where you create your product ....

I have it set to YES for Product Priced by Attributes.

I figured it was supposed to be set to this because there are many options that cost additional $.

But if I turn this to NO ... then the salemaker sale works.

Now, can I turn this to NO (off) in the database so I don't have to edit over 3500 products manually?

If I can do this in the database ... what am I looking for?

Priced by Attributes is for Products where the Product price is 0.00 and the attribues make up the full price ...

Most products are NOT Priced by Attributes ... they just happen to be Products with attributes that may or may not have attributes that may or may not add/subtract an amount ...

To set all products to NOT be set to Priced by Attribute:

1 backup your database

2 make sure you followed step 1

3 run the following command in the Tools ... Install SQL Patches ...

UPDATE products SET products_priced_by_attribute = 0;

There a individual settings per Attribute where you can turn OFF the Special/Sale being applied to the Attribute in the Attributes Controller ...

Your issue does sound like you have your products set to Priced by Attribute and they are not ...

You're a Godsend - doing that database fix did the trick.

Now, no matter what product I add to the cart (selecting random options ... some with and some without additional cost) the correct sales price is being displayed in the cart.

I wonder why that Products are priced by Attributes is YES be default ... since it's rare to have products at $0.00, and to be priced by their attributes only ... you would think the default would be NO. Since it was YES by default, I assumed it was set correctly for the typical shopping cart. :unsure:

Now to do that fix in the other carts ....

By default, Product is Priced by Attribute is NO ... perhaps you have something changed in the code? :unsure:

I have no clue what have changed it from No to Yes on these carts.
Unless I'm doing something under Configuration that I'm thinking is one thing, but ends up being associated with this. :dontgetit

The only mods I have installed are:

Google checkout
Google analytics
Supertracker
monthly sales reports
image handler
blank sidebox
checkout without account (on 2 of the 4 carts)

Could you check the file. on the server, for:
/admin/includes/modules/collect_info.php

and search for:
products_priced_by_attribute

what does that whole array, approximately lines 12-42, for the $paramaters read?

Note: I am assuming you are using normal Product General product type ...

Hi,

I can't get the SaleMaker to make any discounts at all. If I go to admin it shows on the product category the discount like this:

But if I click the folder open, I do not see any track of Specials or Discounts visible on the product list or in an individual products.
I have put with a SaleMaker two product categories on 50% sale for the July (starting from 30th of June) and I have tested different options for the place of
"If a product is a Special:" but that didn't help either and actually these products have only normal price previously and only some of them has attributes (mostly no attributes).

I also corrected the "known bug" but that didn't bring any solution for the matter:
"Problem: Sales made with Salemaker having trouble on some sales with Linked Products ...

Solution: update the code on the following files..."

I should really get the sales working for July!

What categories_id is the Sale set for?

What is the master_categories_id for the Products?

Are you using Linked Products? No, not in these categories.

Do your Products use Priced by Attribute? NO.

What categories_id is the Sale set for? id 15 and 16

What is the master_categories_id for the Products? I have been searching where to look this master category id but didn't find how I can know it.

No linked ones in my quick check but the ones that I looked (inside categories 15 & 16) had actually

I do not know how it ended up like that. So, this should be somehow fixed now and put the respective categories like 15 & 16?

All Products have in the products table a master_categories_id ... if it is set to 0 then it cannot work properly with Sale Maker ...

Check the table:
products_to_categories

and see how many records the products_id with the master_categories_id set to 0 have ...

If you are not using Linked Products there should be 1 record with the categories_id set to the proper categories_id that they belong to and this should be the value for the master_categories_id ...

If you do not use Linked Products anywhere in your shop, this can be fixed in the Tools ... Store Manager ... by running the Update on the Master Categories ID ... and then running the Update on the Products Price Sorter ...

I haven't tried yet anything because I realised that another person who has updated the shop with EP mass update has managed to make there products under one category (not the ones we are speaking about though) while there are also subcategories under the same category. So, I'm cleaning first all these direct products away, leaving only subcategories. I've read earlier in the forum that this situation can make issues as well.

Then I will look the master categories but I can't use the Store Manager since there are some other subcategories (not the ones that I'm putting in Sale) that are linked to each others.

So, I opened the table "products" and changed from there manually in the database (using phpMyadmin) all the needed master_categories_id that were "0" and they should have been either "15" or "16".

Then still some discounts didn't come visible and those I corrected by realising that the price fork for the discount should be from tax free price. So, we had written there 5.50 that is the minimum but it is our price with taxes. I put there 4.50 now and now all the products with price 5.50 gets discounted as well.

Can I get the products that I put on special price via SaleMaker to the listing of Specials some how?
That is where people are looking the special pricing.
So the products are discounted now but only in their own categories listed, not in Specials. Is it in this way the SaleMaker should really work?

At this time, there is nothing built into Zen Cart to pull all of the Products put on Sale with Sale Maker ...
