Zen-cart for one product, does it make sense?

I want to ask experienced users of Zen-cart does it make sense to make Zen-cart site just for one product.
The product is one downloadable .exe application and shopping process would be divided into 2 parts:

1. Download demo version with time limit. For this I would need only very simple registration form and I would store users data for demo as "pending" .
2. Download full version with complete (default) registration and purchase forms, pay-pal etc..

I´m doing now one Zen-cart project for one client and I like the way how everything is organized, its template system and especially administrator panel and credit card payment system so I wonder is making powerful Zen-cart shopping cart worth for just one downloadable product or it´s better to look for some more simple shopping cart script.

Zencart certainly has the ability to perform the transactional features you want, but time-limiting demo software products requires code to be embedded in the demo software itself.

When the demo period expires, you will want your customers to purchase the "unlock key" or "licence key".

I do not know of a module that does this, so in this respect you may either have to re-think whether zc is right for you. Others on this forum may have solutions here...

There are other services available that enable you to sell licence keys to unlock demo software.

Thanks for your opinions and special thanks to mprough because although I was looking in adds-on for something similar I didn´t find this modul :blush:. I´ll definitely try it and have a deeper look into code to adapt it to my needs.
