Please help me change my ALT tags...

Guys this is another request for ALT image tag help. Please bear with me here I DO have a valid reason.

Here is my setup: Zen 1.3.8a, Cold Steel Template, Simple SEO URL, Image Handler 2, Lightbox, Google Base Feeder installed and working 100%. :smile:

Here is my dillema: I only have about 10 products but they fit 1000 possible cars. I have HEAVILY modified Zen-Cart to automaticly create NEW & Unique products from those 10 items.

But...,

I MUST have the ALT image tag i.e. <alt =""> be made of category names, and NOT the products name.

I have tried searching for $alt and alt= in the developer tool kit but I am really lost as to where I can change how the ALT tag gets defined for each item. I see the files that use $alt but I cant find where the actual $alt function? is defined. :frusty:

The ALT tag is important, I know its not SUPER important, but I REALLY want to do this.. because ALL my other item names, descriptions, and Google Base feed is already done through name-generation based on categories.

Did you ever find a solution to this, i've got a similar problem. I want to change the category & product image alt tags individually in zen cart, for SEO purposes.

Currently the alt tags are automatically set to whatever the category or product is called, but for seo purposes I would like to change them, I cant seem to find anything about this on support forums or google.

If anyone can help it would be really appreciated.

There are tons of other ways to help your SEO - keyword stuffing your ALT tags is not a good use of your time or the programming.

I wont be keyword stuffing my alt tags, I will be placing a descriptive long tail keyword there that I am optimising for a specific product. This holds a lot of benefits in helping the search engines link my products with the keywords. For the more competitive keywords this can be very influential and a lot of other users would benefit from this thread.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated?
