Sideboxes on Product_Info only?

I have a fresh install of 1.38 tied to an existing database and with a bunch of add-ons.

They layout is 3-column on the home page and 2-column on the rest of the site. I am having an issue with two of the sideboxes showing up on the product_info page (only) that I can't seem to get rid of.

In the Layout Boxes Controller page, I checked these boxes and they are configured the same as other boxes that do NOT show up.

Could this be something specific in the code of the product_info page or a setting somewhere else?

You need to DISABLE right column for certain pages. In your case, you will want many pages - including product_info to have right column disabled.

Here's how you do it:

There is a file:

/includes/templates/template_default/common/tpl_main_page.php

Find the following (around lines 41 - 44).

// the following IF statement can be duplicated/modified as needed to set additional flags
  if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'list_pages_to_skip_all_right_sideboxes_on_here,separated_by_commas,and_no_spaces')) ) {
    $flag_disable_right = true;
  }

Where it says:
list_pages_to_skip_all_right_sideboxes_on_here,separated_by_commas,and_no_spaces

Delete the above and insert
product_info

// the following IF statement can be duplicated/modified as needed to set additional flags
  if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'product_info')) ) {
    $flag_disable_right = true;
  }

... and if you want other pages too, just insert their name(s), separated by a comma... eg:
product_info,contact_us,login,etc,etc,etc,etc,etc

You need to save this and then ftp it to:

includes/templates/oem/common/

(If common folder does not exist in your custom template, create it.)

That site of yours looks excellent! Is the template your own, or is it available somewhere? I have a site that would look good with your layout.

Thank you for the compliment! I did the CSS/PHP work and the graphics were done by a company for us. The final touches are not quite completed, but it should be ready in the next 7-10 days.
