How to design a template?

Hi there,
is there someine who can tell me how to do this?! I want to design a template on my oun byt i don't know how to do this. What is the steps, did i nead some program scils or not.

An understanding of PHP will be required, but then I have fudged my way through learning as I go (although a good background in other server-side languages has helped). If you are simply lookign to do your own template for your own site, you should start with the FAQ's, and I would say it's possible. If you are looking to create a distributable template, probably not if you're not already PHP savvy.

Thanks for the answer, but i mean not programming in PHP - i do't want to change the source. I just want to make new grafic design for my zen cart online shop. :cool:

One of the best ways is to download some of the free templates here:

install, and practice modifying them. Most changes are made in the stylesheet.css file.
