Product Price not updating

We have a zencart site ( 1.2.6) and its been working fine, however when we now try to update a product price, it shows it up when we get to the preview page but then when it saves it the old price is back there, some of the products even have a 0 price on the product page in admin but in the main site the correct price £140

What could we do to solve this

You must upgrade... this might be a PHP version problem... not sure, but in any event, the version you are using is very out-dated and probably very insecure.
