Maybe this is a dumb question but, is it possible to configure the clean business template from a fixed width to a fluid width template?

By fluid width, what do you mean? Changes with screen size?
Easiest is to set #mainWrapper to 100% width but if you were to download the cherry template and look at the stylesheet it provides, there's a rather neat width setting in there that tells the stylesheet what maximum width and minimum width to use based on resolutions... Pretty clever but really easy to implement.
