Zone Shipping Help Requested

To all,
-I ask if someone could point me in the right direction or to a thread for the following:

-I have Product Catagories "A" through "D". "A, B, C," is set up so the products ship via a customer chosen method (ups, usps, etc).
-All "A through C" products ship from two locations, our location and one Drop Shipper location. We designate the Drop Ship location as a Manufacturer in all products that come from there, thus the UPS and USPS shipping quotes are accurate.

-Now we have Catagory "D". Catagory "D" will contain products from one Drop Ship company that ships from four different warehouses across the U.S.

-I understand that to enable Zone Shipping we need to make some zip code tables or something... but...
HERE IS THE QUESTION:
-Can only ONE catagory ("D") be set up to use Zone Shipping without affecting the shipping calculations for products in catagories "A, B, C, etc"?
