Showcase and shop in same site

Hi I'm new to Zen and this is probably a really silly question BUT is it possible to have part of my zen cart site as shop and part as a showcase?

I had originally thought of keeping my existing site and running zen cart in a subfolder but I have heard that this is not a good idea.

I want to be able to show my paintings and photographs in part of the site that would be the showcase. Then have other items for sale in the shop section. Is it possible?

Thanks in advance for an help that you can give.

Re: Showcase and shop in same site

We used Gallery2 to "interface" with one of our clients' sites. She sells cakes and wanted to show a lot more cake designs than are actually sold in the online shop.

Gallery2 is nice in that it has a sophisticated admin panel that allows a lot of options (most of which we don't use).

See what we did:

Webshop: www . karenscakes . co . uk
Gallery: www . karenscakes . co . uk / gallery

Many thanks for that information and for taking the time to reply to me.

That looks very much what I'm after. Would I download it from the ZenCart support site?

No. Gallery2 has nothing to do with zencart.

gallery.menalto.com

(it's a bit finicky to set it up... that's the only drawback... you need to read the install procedure very thoroughly).
