carts created - minus - carts converted = carts abandoned

Or are you seeking more detail than that???

Re: Tracking Shopping Cart Abandonment

was looking for code placement, i.e. what pages/files, where to insert analytics code. Was hoping someone here has implemented such a strategy and was curious as to their success.

Re: Tracking Shopping Cart Abandonment

No, I didn;t say I needed the code, my message reads, "code placement". In other words, what files would I put code into to track shoppiing cart abandonment? i.e. the payment options pages, the shipping page, the confirmation page, etc, ALL the files associated with the checkout process.

I asked:
KoBra:

Do not see where you determined that I thought you needed any code - - Only asked what code you were referring to??

I believe that if you have this installed correctly that the tracking code is in the footer and the footer is part of every page loaded unless you have altered the default action.

You might review what you can assemble for your data here

Re: Tracking Shopping Cart Abandonment

I have found Google Analytics to be way off on ecommerce conversion tracking. It always reports way less sales than we have, both credit card sales and Paypal. For instance, the last period from 5-26-09 to 6-25-09 reports 44 sales when in fact we have had 110 sales. I cannot figure out why some transactions register with them and some don't, there doesn't seem to be a pattern that I can discern, anyway.

So, with this metric being so off, I am wary of any other analytics data being accurate. I am to the point where I am going to dump it and save the 20-something KB of bandwidth per page load that the GA script uses.

I'd be interested in hearing of any other analytics out there if someone has used them.

Re: Tracking Shopping Cart Abandonment

There's a great little mod called "supertracker" in the downloads area... it tracks abandoned carts and shows all activity including last page viewed, referrer, and all site activity for each user... it's great and it's really, really easy to use. Plus, it integrates right into admin.
