General Queries and Feedback

Hi all

Apologies for the length of my posting, and if I’ve posted in the wrong thread. Please feel free to move to where it should be if I have.

Being a new ZenCart user with no knowledge of php nor css files, I’ve found this forum extremely useful, and any queries I may have had, I’ve generally found the answers somewhere here.

My site is almost complete, (address below), and while the content may not be for everyone, (although you never know when our service might be useful), I wonder if anyone could take a look, and help me out with a couple of things;

I’ve used two ‘mods’ on my site, the Gallery and Testimonials Manager. I’ve followed the installation instructions for both, but seem to have the following issues;

1. When you click on a thumbnail image in the gallery, it returns you to my current holding page rather than giving you the larger image. I’ve gone so far as to completely rename the holding page from my hosting, but still the issue persists. (Yes, I have uploaded all the images to the correct folders, and named the images accordingly)

2. This ones interesting, because it only occurs when you’re in the Gallery. The Testimonials sidebox seems to be working fine with no problems or issues, and I’ve even had a few tests posted and they work fine, but when you’re in the Gallery, an error appears in the testimonials sidebox. Again, this only happens when in the gallery.

A couple of other things which may be more straight forward.

1. I’ve renamed the ‘Page1’, Page2’ and ‘Page3’ to ‘About Us’, ‘Gallery’ and ‘To Be Decided’. These names appear in the side box on the left, but when you click on the links the page names are still showing as Page 1 etc. This, I know, is because I haven’t changed the relevant Page names etc, but could someone let me know where I need to do this

2. Also, when you click on links from the side boxes, I’ve noticed the right-hand side box seems to move according to either the name of the page you’ve clicked, or the content width. How do I stop this from happening ?

Other than these few issues, I just have the PayPal and Delivery options to configure, and any other tweaks that anybody might suggest. This is the first time my site has been posted for viewing, so any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I’m hoping to be able to remove my holding page, and ‘Go Live’ on August 1st this year, so no doubt I’ll be asking for comments again nearer the time.

Unfortunately, the only people who could help with 1. and 2. are those who have the Gallery mod installed. It may be that the Gallery mod and the Testemonials mod change some of the same files, so when you installed Testemonials, it messed up Gallery. I'd guess that's where that error is coming from.

3. Check the defines in includes/languages/english/page_3.php.

4. Don't know for sure, but Zencart loads all stylesheets in the CSS folder of the current template with the .css extension, so you either want to rename the extra you have to something like stylesheet.backup or move it to a different folder. Also, Linux doesn't care for spaces in file names, if you're on a Linux server.
